The crime occurred on January 28, 2010, at about 9:30 p.m. as the victims were walking down the block in front of a residence in southeast Fresno.
Fuentes is scheduled for sentencing on August 14, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. in Department 72. Fuentes is facing life without the possibility of parole for the first degree murder of Christopher Rodriguez and the true finding that it was committed in the furtherance of a criminal street gang. He is also facing 50 years-to-life for personally using a firearm and causing great bodily injury in the commission of the first degree murder and one attempted murder. Additionally, he is facing 80 years for personally discharging a firearm in the commission of the other four attempted murders. Lastly, Fuentes is facing an additional term of 15-to-life for shooting at an inhabited dwelling in the furtherance of a criminal street gang.

FRESNO – Fresno County District Attorney Elizabeth A. Egan announced today that a Fresno County Jury convicted 25-year-old Alfredo Fuentes of killing Christopher Manuel Rodriguez on January 28, 2010. He was also found guilty of five counts of attempted murder and shooting at an inhabited dwelling in the furtherance of a criminal street gang.
