She was born on January 28, 1914 to George and Margaret Konjoyan of Somerville, Massachusetts. The family moved to Detroit when she was 5 then to Reedley, Ca. in 1917 where Rose attended schools and graduated from Fresno Tech. High School in 1931.
Rose and her sister Anne worked for the Koligian Brothers Packing House in Fresno. The Koligian and Konjoyan families had ties of friendship that dated back to their days in Kharpert, Turkey.
The family made another move to Los Angeles and Haig Koligian made visits to Los Angeles to see Rose. They were married on May 15, 1938 at the Holy Cross Armenian Church in Los Angeles. Their 62 year marriage was blessed with 2 children, Carole Lynn and Larry Haig. Rose was a full time mother and homemaker. Rose was a kind and loving lady who always gave of her herself to her family. She was a member of St. Paul Armenian Church, a Charter member of the Daughters of Vartan, did volunteer service at the Veteran's Hospital in Fresno in her younger years and was a life patron of the Ani Guild. Her quick wit and lively sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank Dr. Steven Chooljian for his care to Rose for many years and her devoted caregivers Azat Abajian, Roza Sargsyan and Sona Khachatryan. She was preceeded in death by her husband Haig in 2000 and her son Larry in 2001. In addition to her loving sister Anne Hanessian, Rose is survived by a brother Martin Konjoyan, by her daughter Carole Chooljian and her husband Barry, grandson Joel Mazmanian and his wife Jill and their daughters Jacie and Jordan; Daughter-in-law Helene Koligian of Cincinnati and grandsons Todd Koligian, and Jon Campos and their children. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Alice Koligian and June Kolligian, niece Jane Moosoolian and nephews Jack Hanessian and his wife Debbie, Robert Koligian, Jr., Lee Jay Kolligian and his wife Maria, grand nieces Marijane and Mallory Moosoolian and Katherine Kolligian, Grand nephews Tyler and Kyle Kolligian and many other family members. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11 AM at Ararat Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to St. Paul Armenian Church, 3767 N.
