FRESNO - The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has electronically booked 26 year old Kyle Holaday into the Fresno County Jail. The Fresno man is facing charges of murder, attempted murder and animal cruelty.

At 7:00 pm on March 24, 2017, Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of shots being fired inside a home located on the 300 block of S. Villa Ave. in Fresno. Deputies arrived and found a total of five people with gunshot wounds. One was deceased and the other four were transported to the hospital.

Approximately 10 minutes later, Fresno Police officers apprehended the suspected gunman, Kyle Holaday, a short distance away near Kings Canyon Road and S. Lind Ave. A person driving a pickup struck and injured Holaday as he crossed into traffic while running from the crime scene. Holaday was taken to the hospital where he currently remains in stable condition.

The following is a list of the victims, their relationship to the suspect and current health status.
- James Willcoxson, 60, stepfather, deceased.
- Mother of Kyle Holaday, 58, stable condition.
- 28 year old woman, family friend, critical, but stable condition.
- 28 year old woman, family friend, released from hospital.
- Five month old girl, she is the daughter of family friend who has been released from the hospital. Baby has also been released from the hospital.

Fresno County Sheriff’s homicide detectives have not been able to determine a motive in this case. A preliminary investigation shows Holaday suddenly opened fire inside the home, killing his stepfather, injuring his mom and two of her friends. The baby received a graze wound to her ear. The family’s dog was also fatally shot. Holaday lived at this home and is a former member of the military.

This marks the 4th homicide of 2017 in the Fresno County Sheriff’s jurisdiction.
