MADERA - Madera South High School's sixth homecoming celebration is now in the history books. Pastor Roger Leach of Valley West Church was chosen as the grand marshal of Friday's activates which included the parade and pregame ceremonies.

The parade kicked off in the morning and traveled down Stadium Road to Madera South where it entered the campus on Pecan Street. Children from the Purple Track's feeder schools lined Stadium Road to see the high schools on their floats and in the band. Several of the varsity football players even walked the crowds of kids shaking hands.

MADERA - The tenth commencement exercise for Madera South High School took to the air with drone cameras and big screen video displays. Now the parents of the graduating seniors could see their students up close when they received their diplomas on the stage. And as their students marched in to the stadium at the beginning of the ceremony, a camera hovering at 500 feet gave a birds-eye view of the students as the marched to their seats.

"Learn from yesterday, live for today and dream for tomorrow" was the theme of this years graduation as speakers including David Vargas,  Patsy Mejia, Angelica Costillas and Brandon Valdez delivered the message with their student speeches.

MADERA - The Madera High School 2015 Homecoming kicked off Friday's events with a parade through the streets of Madera. Starting at it's feeder middle school, Thomas Jefferson, it snaked its way around the HOPY section of Madera towards Madera High School to its conclusion at the MUSD's Memorial Stadium.

The grand marshal was driven by Chris DaSilva and the homecoming king and queen candidates were driven by school board members and Madera Mayor Robert Poythress. The Madera High School band led by Bret Cappelluti played while the classes and clubs showed off their hard word on their floats. At the end of the parade route was a rally at the stadium for all the high schoolers.

MADERA - The Madera South Stallions celebrated homecoming Friday with a come-from-behind win on the gridiron against The Fresno High Warriors 61-40. Other winners Friday night were Jayvion Warren and Brianna Hyatt who were crowned the 2015 homecoming king and queen during half time.

Jayvion Warren is the son of Brandi Williams and Gerald Warren. He is involved in link crew, and has played Stallion football all 4 years of high school. In his spare time, he enjoys going to church youth group meetings, hanging out with friends and family, and going on missionary trips. His plans after high school are to attend Grand Canyon University and major in nursing.

MADERA - With their parents watching from the bleachers of Madera's Memorial Stadium, the 188th graduating class from Madera High School stepped towards their future Friday night. Over 500 students accepted their diplomas and are preparing for their service to our country, futures in college or just starting their life's.

Guest speaker Larry Powell, former Fresno County Superintendent of Education, told the graduates that no matter what life presenting them they would never lose their value. Student speakers delivered the message to Dare to Dream.
