EDITORIAL: End the Third Term of Quid Pro Quo: Vote Jordan Wamhaff for MCBOS District 1

EDITORIAL – If the Madera Ranchos voters want to use their water faucets or showers in the future, it is time for them to take back their supervisor’s district, which was sold to the water-hungry Fresno Developers. Now that the Madera County Board of Supervisors has removed any limits to campaign donations, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been “donated” to the current boards’ coffers. In return, potential billion-dollar housing projects rejected for the previous twenty years are suddenly approved.

A vote for Andy Wheeler will be nothing more than a continuation of the Third Term of wholesale quid pro quo in the Madera County Government Center that has existed for the last eight years. What does Richard Spencer, owner of Harris Construction, get for his $20k donation to Brett Frazier’s campaign or the $10k he gave to Andy Wheeler? More importantly, why did Spencer use Fresno’s Chaffee Zoo’s Measure Z to funnel $2500 to Andy’s campaign? Those questions are answered when you realize Spencer’s involvement with the Fresno States Measure E campaign. Who do you think built most of Madera County’s new buildings in the last eight years, and who will profit from future new buildings at Fresno State?

Fresno Developers with huge housing complexes on Hwy 41 have helped make this one of the costliest campaigns in Madera County History. It used to be that a Madera County Supervisor wouldn’t raise a hundred thousand dollars in their entire career. Now for District 1, since the election of Brett Frazier, a hundred thousand dollars is just a drop in the bucket, with most of the money coming from the same four developers and a garbage collector.

The voters of Madera Ranchos need to realize that their water supply is at risk. Between the irresponsible housing developments and the quarry that our current supervisor didn’t have to vote on (thanks to a back-room deal?), how deep are your wells today compared to ten years ago? It’s time to end the third term before it starts. It’s time to tell Fresno Developers that the Madera County Board of Supervisors is no longer for sale.

The only responsible choice for Madera County Supervisor District 1 is Jordan Wamhoff. He will represent the people of District 1 and businesses located in Madera County first. For a change, his vote will never be for sale. You can trust him to put Madera County first, not his personal political goals.

The Ranchos need to decide what is important to them, a Dutch Bros a few miles away or water under your houses? Is your representative on the Board of Supervisors for sale to the highest donor, or are you ready to End the Third Term?

Tell the Fresno Developers that Madera County is No Longer For Sale.
